The Survey Department is surveying lands belonging to the state in all parts of the island in a move to put into order the ownership of state lands and in such a survey it has been revealed that the ownership of a land belonging to the state has been written in former Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa’s name.
A land of 3 acres in 18th post area belonging to Katunayaka International Airport has been taken over by Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and security for the land has been provided by a private security firm.
According to documents of the Airport the land belongs to the Airport but according to the Department of Lands then land belongs to Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
Further investigations have revealed that the land has been taken over by Mr. Rajapaksa. The price of land in the area is very high
