STF have been deployed to Diaraba on the Bandarawela Welimada road following a tense situation that erupted after the death of a youth in that area.
The youth who got into a row with workers of a liquor shop on the night 31st of December was later hospitalized due to injuries.
The 27-year old youth died of his injuries at Badulla General Hospital yesterday.
Residents in the area attacked and damaged the property where the conflict had taken place following the death of the youth.
Later STF were deployed to control the situation that erupted between residents and the owners of the liquor shop.
Earlier on the 4th of December, residents in the area launched a protest demanding that police arrest the suspects.
