The services of Secretary to the Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC), Lacille De Silva has been terminated by the Presidential Secretariat.
De Silva informed that he had been served a letter sent by the Secretary to the President, P.B. Abeykoon, informing him of his termination with immediate effect at 1.30 p.m. on March 01.

When queried as to whether he had been asked to tender his resignation in prior, De Silva said no.
“I was retired when I was called to serve in the PRECIFAC, for which I was appointed as the Secretary. I did what I could to the best of my ability. If I am asked to go I will go,” he added.
When questioned as to what his next course of action would be, De Silva remarked, “We will see.”
Abeykoon was not available for a comment.
