A video depicting the operating crew of a SriLankan Airlines flight from Madurai creeping through a barbed wire fence to gain access to their aircraft has been published by the 'Colombo Telegraph'.
Crew members also included the female cabin crew.
Due to protests close to airport, Capt.R. De Alwis and his crew of the national carrier had faced difficulties in gaining access to the main airport entrance in Madurai after the crew stopover.
Instead of turning back to the hotel until the protest was over, Capt. De Alwis had looked at all options to get the crew to the airport to operate their flight back.
The video shows the crew walking on a dirt road before being forced to creep through a barbed wire fence bordering the airport.
