Sixty six passengers, including 17 schoolchildren were injured when an SLCTB bus belonging to the Nawalapitiya depot skidded off the road and plunged into a precipice of 50 feet at Kalugalhinna at Gonawalapathana on the Nawalapitiya – Dolosbage road yesterday. The injured were admitted to Nawalapitiya Base Hospital. Six of them were transferred to Kandy General Hospital.
Nawalapitiya Hospital Director Dr. Nihal Weerasuriya said a pregnant woman was among the seriously injured.
