The island-wide power cuts which were experienced last week will end from today as the power generation at the Norochcholai Coal Power plant has recommenced, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) announced.
The CEB further stated that Embilipitiya, Puttalam power plants will soon be re-activated as well.
Earlier, authorities imposed electricity rationing of seven-and-a-half hours daily, as engineers tried to restore normal supplies after Sunday’s explosion at the Biyagama plant.
