A husband aged 82 years and his wife aged 75 years are reported to have died due to natural causes on the same day, at Peradeniya Teaching Hospital.
The husband and wife from Talatuoya were admitted to hospital on December 26. The wife Hema Wijesinghe died on December 31. About two hours later after receiving the news of her demise the husband J.B. Wijesinghe died at the same hospital.
