Siyatha’ channel owner Roshantha Kariyapperuma is planning to buy the ‘Rivira’ newspaper.
Sources at the channel say 80 per cent of the related work is complete.In addition to the ‘Rivira’ newspaper, Rivira Media Corporation also owns ‘The Nation; and ‘Bottomline’.
However, agreement is yet to be reached to include the English newspaper in the deal.
Rivira Media Corporation is said to be owned by Nilanka Rajapaksa, a relative of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa and Prasanna Wickramasooriya.
