Won’t Rest until ‘Govt sent home’

Remanded National Freedom Front leader Wimal Weerawansa who attended Parliament escorted by Prison officials yesterday vowed to continue his struggle to send the government home.

He said he was not discouraged by suppression by the government and would not give up even if he was put into 100 prisons.

Participating in the adjournment debate on the COPE report on the Central Bank Bond Probe, the MP said "the government can put me in hundreds of prisons, but I am determined not to bow down before its suppression. I will not rest until this government is sent home. We would not have commenced this struggle if we were afraid. We have dealt with more ruthless and dangerous devils in the 1988 – 1990 period. Compared to them, these devils are just kittens. We did not back off then and will not do so now."
