The Negombo Cricket Club, which is one of the oldest clubs in competitive cricket in the country has filed a case in the District Court of Colombo against Sri Lanka Cricket seeking redress for what it perceived to be an arbitrary decision of the latter to suspend the Negombo CC from participating in the emerging Tier B league tournament for apparently no valid reason.
This suspension followed Negombo Cricket Club being crowned champions in the Sara Trophy Tournament in 2015.
Cricket lovers are following with interest the outcome of this case No. DSP 00025/17, which will be next heard on March 30.
