Security units have learnt of a plan to hurl a brassiere towards the main stage during the 'SLT Speed Up Fiesta' musical night which will be held at Galle Face Green, tonight (31), reports say.
The objective of this attempt is said to inconvenience President Maithripala Sirisena, who had criticised a similar incident that had taken place during the recent Colombo concert of Enrique Iglesias.
The President had noted that organisers of the particular show, which was harmful to the country’s culture, should be punished.
At the present, Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) is being chaired by the President's brother - Kumarasinghe Sirisena.
'SLT Speed Up Fiesta', which claimed to be the biggest musical night of this new year's eve, is to kick off at 8.00pm and is to be telecast live by the state owned Rupavahini's Channel Eye as well as by 20 channels of SLT's PEO TV.
The promotional video of the event is shown below.
