Colombo District Court today revoked the enjoining order against Prasanna Vithanage's film 'Usaviya Nihandayi' (Silence in the Courts) which was imposed on October 5.
The enjoining order was issued after a petition by Magistrate Lenin Rathnayake.
Through the petition, Rathnayake said that the film was based on false facts and that his reputation and the reputation of the judiciary was challenged by the film.Eight respondents argued for the lifting of the enjoining order yesterday in court.
District Court Judge M.U. Gunawardena said that he made the decision after considering both sides.Further inquiry was set for January 19.
