Thirty eight persons were injured when the bus they were travelling in veered off the road topple over at Sungavila in Polonnaruwa-Somawathiya main road yesterday.The bus transporting a group of devotees who were from Aranayake to Somawathi Seya had met with the accident around 11 a.m., police said.
The injured had been sent to the Polonnaruwa General Hospital. The condition of the four of the injured was serious, hospital sources said.
Police suspect that the vehicle had skidded off the wet road after morning showers.
Pulasthipura police are conducting further investigations.
