The Police are pursuing further investigations into a murder incident that took place in the Meetiyagoda area yesterday.
The owner of a fruit stall in the Meetiyagoda junction was shot and killed within his stall yesterday morning. The Police recovered an ammunition and an empty ammunition cap from within the stall.
A 45-year-old father of three residing in the Mahawatte area, died in this shooting. This same person sustained injuries in a shootout that took place on the 13th of February this year. The Meetiyagoda Police said that the suspects concerned had been arrested and are in remand custody.
