The All Ceylon Lottery Sellers Association (ALCLSA) is to meet former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga tomorrow in a bid to find solutions to their issues, after discussions with representatives from the Lotteries Board, aimed at reducing the price of a lottery ticket to Rs 20, ended in deadlock.
Krishantha Marambage, Chairman of the Association, said that they will continue with their island-wide strike.
"We will meet the State Minister of Finance, Lakshman Yapa Abeywardane today to discuss the possibility of lowering the price of a lottery ticket. Although we have repeatedly requested the Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake for a discussion, there has been a zero response," the Chairman said.
The lottery sellers went on strike earlier this month but called off their campaign after President Maithripala Sirisena promised to solve their issues relating to sales commissions.
