The Mahanayaka Thera of the Malwatta Chapter, Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thero has announced his decision not to allow any politicians to meet him.
Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thero has taken the decision as no responsible person has still responded to the proposals put forward by the Chief Prelates of all three Buddhist Chapters in Sri Lanka to resolve the current issues in the country.
Submitting four proposals, the Chief Prelates had warned if the country’s political leadership does not create political stability and resolve the economic crisis, the Maha Sangha of the three Chapters would unite and take action to declare a Sangha Convention.
