During questioning, the 30-year-old from Colombo 12 had said he was dressed in a Burka, full body clothing worn by Muslim women, in order to surprise his girlfriend who was returning from Qatar.

The House became more noisy when some joint opposition MPs came to her defence when she was heckled by members from the government benches.
“I came to Parliament with a great expectation to respond to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe who invited me to join the government. I was waiting to say this to his face but I am sorry that he is not here today" she said.
“Anyway I am happy about the Prime Minister's invitation as he must have called me to join the government as none of his ministers are doing any good to the nation. " she added.
“May be the Prime Minister had suddenly developed a liking to me,” she also said
She said Prime Minister has been saying he will implement the Deduwa tourism project for 17 years. But Ms Kumarasinghe said she will consider the premier's invitation if the government implement this project.
UNP MP Ajith Mannapperuma who responded said the Prime Minister did not invite Ms Kumarasinghe to enjoy her company but to work for the country. "Ms Kumarasinghe must have had too many at deputy minister Palitha Range Bandara's daughter's wedding" he added.
The secret to a happy marriage is MORE SLEEP
No need for any more expensive gifts, romantic breaks or big bouquets of flowers. It seems the secret to a happy marriage is completely free – a good night’s sleep.
Psychologists have found that having seven or eight hours’ sleep a night means partners are less likely to focus on the negative aspects of their relationship and more inclined to think about the bigger picture.
Researchers at Florida State University say sleep also helps to restore function in the prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain that manages self control, which is thought to improve our perception of relationships.
Although divorce rates in the UK are at their lowest levels of 40 years, the numbers separating every year are still significant.
About 260,000 couples in the UK get married each year but at the same time nearly 120,000 part.
Experts regard honesty, warmth and respect as the bedrock of any relationship.
But the latest study, in the Journal of Family Psychology, shows a good snooze is equally important.
Scientists asked 68 newlywed couples to record their sleep patterns for a week.
They also kept a diary on how they felt about their marriage and how rows affected their view of the relationship.
Finally, researchers used something called the Kansas Marital Satisfaction Scale to assess volunteers’ levels of satisfaction with their sex lives, levels of affection, time spent together, partners’ mood and how they resolved rows.
Husbands benefited most from a proper night’s sleep, the study found.
Even on days where they fell out with their wives, they felt upbeat about their marital status – providing they had a good rest the night before.
The researchers said: ‘Sleep is an important factor that affects marital satisfaction.
'Up to a third of married or cohabiting adults report that sleeps problems burden their relationship.’

Former Chief Controlling Officer of Immigration and Emigration Jayasinghe Aarachchige Ariyasena, who was indicted by the Bribery Commission in 1996 on charges of illegally acquiring funds, was convicted by the Colombo High Court (CHC) yesterday.
CHC Judge Kusala Sarojini Weerawardena imposed a fine of Rs 6.6 million and a two-year rigorous imprisonment sentence suspended for ten years.
The suspect drew the massive fine in addition to the jail term when it was proved in Court he had purchased a house valued at Rs 2 million which he would not have been able to finance out of his legitimate earnings. He had also been found to have savings of Rs 200,000.
The indictment cited events which occurred 22 years ago.
The Bribery Commission had indicted the former Chief Controller for failing to disclose how he obtained Rs 200,000 to deposit in a fixed deposit account in a State bank and how he got the money to buy the Rs 2 million property between 31 March 1994 and 31 March 1995.
State Counsel Shanil Kularatne making submissions to Court on behalf of the plaintiff stated that State officials are duty bound to serve the public as though they were given that order by the gods themselves.
He said that in offences such as these, when they are committed by such officials, the onus of punishing such individuals lies with the Judiciary, if not the public would lose faith with the system.
