A protest organized by the National Freedom Party (NFF) in collaboration with the Joint Opposition (JO) will be held in front of the Fort Railway Station at 3 p.m. today.
This protest is to demand the immediate release of Wimal Weerawansa, the NFF leader. who was recently arrested over "false allegations", the NFF said.
The NFF further alleged that the authorities are hunting down national level leaders who raise their voices against the misdeeds of the government.
The NFF leader Wimal Weerawansa was arrested last week when he visited the Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) to give a statement over the alleged misuse of State vehicles when he was a minister in the previous government.
